What is the load capacity of Bamboo?

Load capacity depends on mat size & thickness, however, our Bamboo material is put through vigorous mechanical testing and load reports can be provided. NEYCO can also advise based on your equipment and ground conditions.

Can I hire or purchase?

Either. We provide both hire and purchase options. We have the largest stock holding in Australia for bamboo composite matting. We also provide options for used mats at a discounted purchase rate.

Are you FSC verified?

We provide full chain of responsibility documentation on our bamboo, where our factories are full FSC verified. Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants on earth. Our factories use bamboo that is 3-6 years old, compared to a growth cycle of hardwood of 30+ years.

BAMBOO CRANE MATS

Our bamboo mats have been designed to overcome some of the natural limitations of timber and steel mats.

As there is worldwide shortage of hardwood available, NEYCO has diversified its offerings by providing Bamboo Crane Mats. Bamboos include some of the fastest-growing plants in the world. This rapid growth and tolerance for maginal land, bamboo makes a good candidate for afforestation, carbon sequestration and climate change mitigation.

Bamboo is versatile and a natural composite material with a high strength-weight useful for structure and industrial applications. Our bamboo farming comes directly from our manufacturing suppliers in Vietnam, with full FSC certification supplied. Our factory's location is in the middle of a 140,000+ hectare bamboo growth, so we always have ample supply of raw material.

BAMBOO ACCESS MATS

Our bamboo composite mats have been designed to overcome some of the natural limitations of timber and steel mats.

The panels in our design maximize on the inherent nexibility of bamboo, allowing them to bend on uneven ground. By incorporating new technology into traditional design, we were able to make our Bamboo Composite Mats stronger and less susceptible to breakage.

Engineering the mats out of bamboo composite allowed us to create a product that retains less than 10% water, compared to at least 30% moisture retention with traditional hardwood. The low moisture content and the superior strength of bamboo composite over more traditional material, has allowed us to keep the weight lower than comparable mats. This has resulted in significant logistic savings over the life span of the mat.

As our mats are produced from an engineered composite panel, our mats keep a consistent strength and are less susceptible to breakage. Traditional timber mats are more prone to breakage as timber boards will often have structural weakness in part of the board. Our strict quality control and tested production methods ensure that the quality of our mats is consistent. Bamboo has a tensile strength of 28,000 per square inch compared to 23,000 for steel. The bending strength has been tested at double the strength of solid oak.

Due to the superior strength of bamboo composite, the mats are especially suitable for steel tracked vehicles such as excavators.

Our typical Bamboo access mat is manufactured to 3900 x 2200 x 60mm (with fingers) and weighs 525kg, making them an excellent mat choice for transportation.
